چکیده

Abī al-Faḍāʼil Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. al-Muẓaffar b. al-Mukhtār al-Ḥanafī al-Rāzī’s Mā nuzila min al-Qurʼān fī ʻAlī b. Abī Ṭālib [Quranic Verses in Praise of the first Imam ʻAlī b. Abī Ṭālib] (2013) is a significant Sunni-authored treatise that compiles 156 Quranic verses referencing the first Infallible Imam ʻAlī b. Abī Ṭālib (a), edited by Ḥasanīn al-Mūsawī al-Muqarram and published in 1434 AH/2013 by the al-ʻAbbās Holy Shrine in Karbala. Based on a manuscript from Sulaymaniyah Library, Istanbul (MS no. 3739, transcribed in 738 AH/1433), the edited version expands the original four-page treatise with Prophetic hadiths from over 110 Sunni sources, providing robust evidence of Imam ʿAlī’s esteemed status. The book includes a scholarly preface by Ayatollah Sayyid Muḥammad Mahdī al-Mūsawī al-Khirsān, an editor’s preface, and an index of Quranic verses and hadiths (pp. 307–326). The editorial method meticulously pairs Quranic verses with their sura and verse references, supplemented by reliable Sunni hadith collections, highlighting Imam ʿAlī’s significance within Sunni scholarship. Despite a rudimentary English synopsis requiring revision, the work serves as a vital resource for understanding Sunni perspectives on the Ahl al-Bayt (a), particularly Imam ʿAlī (a), offering valuable insights for both Sunni and Shii readers.
